Why I Said No to Hustle Culture and Yes to Mental Wellness in Business

There was a time I thought building a business meant running myself into the ground — saying yes to everything, ignoring my gut, and mistaking exhaustion for success. It wasn’t sustainable, and it wasn’t making me a better business partner. Somewhere along the way, I realized that mental wellness in business isn’t optional. It’s the foundation. That shift changed everything about how I work, lead, and live.
The Moment I Knew My Business Needed a Mental Wellness Reset
When I first started this model of entrepreneurship, I thought success came from doing more, sleeping less, and saying yes to every opportunity. But over time, I noticed that my creativity, confidence, and decision-making were suffering. Burnout wasn’t a badge of honor. It was a warning sign.
That’s when I began to understand the connection between mental wellness and the quality of my work. As a certified mental wellness coach, I also saw how much this affected the women I worked with. Their results weren’t just about skill or strategy. They were tied to how well they could manage stress, maintain energy, and protect their emotional health. I knew that if I didn’t prioritize my own mental wellness, I couldn’t help them prioritize theirs.
Why Mental Wellness in Business Is Now My Non-Negotiable
Entrepreneurship demands focus, creativity, and resilience. All three rely on a healthy nervous system and a balanced mind. For me, mental wellness in business looks like:
Protecting my energy and boundaries
Prioritizing recovery and rest over constant hustle
Staying aligned with my values so decisions feel easy and clear
These aren’t just “nice-to-haves.” They’re the reason I can lead effectively without burning out. They’re also what allows me to mentor other women with empathy, patience, and clarity — qualities that are nearly impossible to maintain when you’re running on empty.
Why I Chose The Mental Wellness Company
When I learned about Amare, I realized their mission matched the direction I was looking for — building a business in a way that supports, not drains, mental wellness. The company’s focus on gut-brain health, ingredient integrity, and a sustainable approach to leadership made it clear this was the right fit for me.
It’s not just another wellness business. It’s one that understands that mental wellness is the foundation for everything else. And it’s given me tools that I can pass along to my clients and team members so they can experience the same benefits in their own lives and businesses.
How I Support My Mental Wellness as an Entrepreneur
Part of building mental wellness in business is having tools that keep my mind clear and my stress balanced. My daily “mental wellness toolkit” includes products that support gut health, focus, motivation, and stress resilience. I think of it as my business insurance. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to show up for my team or my clients the way I desire to.
As a mental wellness coach, I’ve seen how quickly burnout can derail even the most talented women. That’s why I teach strategies for protecting mental energy, creating healthy boundaries, and building habits that last. It’s not just about helping them succeed in business — it’s about helping them feel good while they do it.
Choosing Health Over Hustle
I used to chase every opportunity to serve, every zoom, every late night phone call, every Monday night meeting, every event. Now I choose only what aligns with my values, my energy, and my long-term vision. The courage to say no to hustle culture has made me a better leader and a happier human.
